Job Specification:

Duties and responsibilities at this level entail assisting in:

  1. Directing and coordinating administrative and technical operations of the land survey section;
  2. Liaising with necessary agencies/authorities to obtain approvals;
  3. Reviewing job request, with Manager, Land Survey Services and field staff; determines, coordinate and assembles job data needed.
  4. Coordinating, evaluating and monitoring land surveyors working under him and recommend for promotion;
  5. Reviewing, plans, coordinates and directs the schedules of works for survey staff to maintain work request deadline for various Corporation projects;
  6. Compiling, translates electronic surveys and manual field data; operates computer programs and coordinating all survey data at the Corporation;
  7. Providing assistance to office and field staff as required;
  8. Reviewing all data of surveys activities for accuracy and completion;
  9. Personally performs a variety of complex, technical surveying and drafting work, prepares reports and corresponding related to surveying;
  10. Providing for the training of Survey staff, evaluates performance, recommend promotions and disciplinary actions;
  11. Investigating and resolved boundary dispute;
  12. Assisting in compilation of document leading to the drawing up of the boundary plans, titles, leases and sub-leases;
  13. Undertaking geodetic, cadastral, sectional property and engineering surveys and mapping to informs design, implementation of housing and infrastructure project and acquisition of ownership documents;
  14. Undertaking re-establishment of land boundary beacons to facilitate implementation of projects;
  15. Keeping custody of survey equipment and ensure they are calibrated to required standards; and

Person Specification:

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  1. Diploma in Land Survey, Geo-spatial Engineering, Geomatic Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  2. Proficiency in computer applications; and
  3. Fulfills the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution.
