Job Specification:
Duties and responsibilities at this level entail:
- Implementing and reviewing policies, strategies, procedures and standards on physical planning and land survey;
- Collecting, analyzing site, geographical data and preparing physical development plans to guide housing schemes;
- Preparing land use plans and obtaining change of user as required;
- Providing information for feasibility study and planning of housing and infrastructure projects;
- Supervising outsourced consultants such as Land Surveyors and Physical Planners to ensure implementation of their services to specifications;
- Undertaking research on physical planning and urbanization;
- Ensuring custody of physical planning records;
Person Specification:
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
- At least eight (8) years relevant work experience three (3) of which should have been in a supervisory role;
- Bachelors Degree in Planning, Physical Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Planning, Regional Planning or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
OR
Bachelors Degree in relevant field and Post Graduate diploma in Planning, Physical Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Planning, Regional Planning or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
- Masters Degree Planning, Physical Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Planning, Regional Planning or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
- Member of the Kenya Institute of Planners or Architectural Association of Kenya (Town Planning Chapter) or any other recognized professional body in good standing and where applicable;
- Registered by the Physical Planners Registration Board applicable;
- Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from recognized institution;
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Fulfills the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution.
